About the 2024 ITL ALICT Silent Auction

Our auction will run online on 27 Sept – 3 October 2024, with bids closing on the evening of 3 October during the gala event. The auction, and wines, are complimented by an exquisite menu from 2Chefs and a hall full of wonderful people. The Silent Auction website will be open for bids during the week before the event for all to visit and read up on, and a physical display will be the centerpiece at the event.

Below is background on our Silent Auction as well as what we do.

About the Institute for Transformational Leadership (ITL)

Our emerging leaders empower those who want to live empowered in whatever sector they work or wherever they live, to serve their communities.

We have empowered alumni from 114 countries through our flagship 3 months of training just outside of Wellington. Our work differs from other training sessions in that we continue to empower, support and work with alumni in the longer term. They work in difficult circumstances and in a rapidly changing world, so support and continuous growth are needed. For the past 20 years, every year for 3 months, we have been offering a training program for 30 emerging leaders from 30 different countries worldwide. These are leaders who are already doing incredible work in their communities, from child trafficking, humanitarian acts, war relief, hunger relief, education, etc. Alumni also become political, corporate, or educational leaders in their countries – in fact in any field of leadership. The change one wants to see in the world, they are doing it! Locally, alumnus Songo became famous for his participation in o.a. the Cape Epic as well as his work in Kayamndi in sports, Cindy started a learning center in Kayamandi, Mbongeni started a children’s choir in Kayamandi that has performed overseas several times, Heather has projects with young ladies affected by sexual violence and Rick is supported by the Porterville farmers for his work in schools and the community.

ITL has been empowering leaders in their communities for the past 20 years.

About the annual ITL Silent Auction

Please help us support our alumni and the work we do through a contribution to our annual auction during which we raise funds. A donation of possibly some of your exquisite wine would help us tremendously. We have found that quality receives more attention than quantity, but it can be in any form – we would be grateful for anything you are willing to contribute.

This online silent auction has been proven successful over the past years. Guests enjoy an exclusive night with their friends, a gala dinner and fantastic wines without the interruption of an overtaking bidding process. Three items will be auctioned live just to add to the festivities of the night. The benefit for the wineries involved is that buyers can view the lots online (with photos, logos and descriptions) a week before the event, as well as the night at the event. Since the auction is running online, we have further participants from overseas. A physical display of all the lots will be the centerpiece of the event.

We also offer good exposure due to the fact that several senior people from Capitec, PSG, Nedbank, Sanlam, lawyers, auditors, etc. participated in our last auctions. Paul Sauer’s largest individual buyer participates every year and fills a table with friends. Donations were from Kanonkop, Boschendal, Rust&Vrede, Beeslaar, Ernie Els, the Sadies, La Motte, Naude, Delaire, Lyngrove, Rupert & Rothchild, etc. Donations also include experiences, accommodation, vouchers and once off items.

Our goal is to create an exclusive event that evening that is also an experience and serves as inspiration for everyone and not just another charity auction. For this reason, the previous auctions were held at Haute Cabrière and Blaauwklippen with wine blending competitions between guest table hosted by winemakers from La Motte and Blaauwklippen. Food was prepared by well-known chefs, and our 30 leaders (from 27 countries) busy with the training program also peeked in to contribute to the night. This year we are spoiled to have local well known 2Chefs catering team at our venue in Stellenbosch.

This year is ITL ALCT’s 20th anniversary and we would like to try and make it special in every way we can.

We would love to hear from you, please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
