A small family winery at the end of the Upper Blaauwklippen Road in the mountains above Stellenbosch, South Africa. Established in 1992 by architect David Trafford & artist wife Rita with the focus on high end red wines of great intensity & longevity, using minimal intervention production methods.
While they enter very few competitions they regularly submit their wines for rating with the world’s leading wine publications. De Trafford have a consistent 90+ record for most of their wines!

Item condition: New
Medium deep red colour. Classic dark, blackcurrant, and fruitcake nose. Rich and complex. Soft, but substantial palate with polished tannins and the concentration you expect from prime Helderberg Mountain sites. Fruitcake, blackcurrant, tomato paste & herbal (fynbos) flavours carry through to a long finish. Delicious with most red meat dishes. Butterfly leg of lamb on the braai with wild rosemary. Drink 2025 to 2034.
